Finally after my cross-island drive, I arrive at the Papillote Wilderness Retreat. Great sleeping here in the four poster bed with the birds and tree frogs chirping right outside the window!

Papillote Wilderness Retreat has four different pools that are filled with soothing, warm mineral water from the nearby volcanic spring.

The gardens of Papillote contain many unique tropical exotic flowering plants.

At the bottom of the property is the grotto containing the L’Iviere Seyo Waterfall, which feeds a cool plunge pool, which is adjacent to the warm mineral pool.

This was my favorite place to go every evening with a Rum Punch "to go." I typically had the pools all to myself, where I would relax until just enough time to get ready for dinner.

The temperature in this pool was just perfect. I have never been much of a "bather," but I found this water irresistible.

If you look through the blinds from the window in my room, you will see some giant gourd growing in the tree. I don't know the name, but it was as big as a basketball! I don't know how the poor tree held on!
