This is our friend Franz from Holland wading out for the perfect penguin pic.

I love this picture, because it reminds me of when my brother Don and I used to "gut up" to jump into the South Padre Island pool in winter...."On the count of three!"

....then I jump into the frigid water while he stays warm and dry and teases..."Just kidding!"

Finally, the other penguin jumps in and they swim across the tidal pool.

This gigantic male elephant seal is snoring, blowing bubbles as he exhales in this stagnant pool.

Brochure penguin, a picture which turned out to be exactly the same pose as that of the penguin on my "wishing wall."
