Sequim Lavender Festival, Sequim, Washington
18th thru 20th July, 2014
“Lavender Capital of the Nation”
Purple Haze Lavender Farm
Purple Haze, all in my brain,
Lately things they don’t seem the same,
Actin’ funny, but I don’t know why
‘scuse me while I kiss the sky
Purple Haze, all around,
Don’t know if I’m comin’ up or down
Am I happy or in misery?
Whatever it is, that flower put a spell on me.
Purple Haze, all in my eyes,
Don’t know if it’s day or night,
You’ve got me blowin’, blowin’ my mind
Is it tomorrow or just the end of time?
Help me
Ahh, yea-yeah, purple haze
Oh, no, oh, Oh, help me
Tell me, tell me, purple haze
I can’t go on like this
Purple haze
You’re makin’ me blow my mind
Purple haze, n-no, nooo
A special thanks to Mr. Jimi Hendrix, who provided the perfect soundtrack that played on a continuous loop in my head for the entire festival. “Purple Haze,” 1967
What a fabulous collection of shots you got!! Love them!

Thanks for the harvest pictures. I was wondering how they did it. Now I’m going to have to research the distillation process. Enjoy your time in the Northwest! We’re headed home way too soon – it’s too hot in Susanville – hate to even think about Mesa. 🙁
I’ve been to the lavender fields in Provence and when they’re harvesting the air is heavy with lavender scent and you do feel hazy, just as Jimi sang. It’s a lovely vibrant colour though and you’ve got some good pictures.
Love this! Will be checking out festivals once we get going on our RV living.
Lovely photos!
You weren’t kidding about seeing purple the entire time you were in Sequim. Beautiful photos. See you soon!!

The photos are so beautiful, I could smell the Lavender. Genius to put the words of Purple Haze in with the photos….Squim should hire you to do their marketing for next year. Loved the purple hat ladies…Did you try lavender butter?
Linda — I didn’t see the lavender butter, but I did have some Garlic Fries with Lavender Aoili at the festival which were yummy! I bought some culinary lavender, so I will have to try infusing it into butter. Thanks!
Lovely pictures. I could actually smell the lavender as I looked at the photos. Hope we can get to that part of the country soon.
Lavendar margarita I could pass on, but that lavendar butter someone mentioned sounds divine! I have some lavendar in the spice cupboard that I bought to make cookies that never happened, I’ll have to see what I can do with it.
