My First Mod!

For those friends reading who might not be familiar with the RVer’s lingo, “mod” is for “modification.”   Mods typically involve some sort of innovation or improvement born out of an idea for greater comfort level or conveniencce.  Or in some cases, it can also be for bragging rights born out of shameless ego from morphing the RV manufacturer’s original design into that of your own.   In my case, it was born out of necessity. I love my little motor home as much or more than I could have imagined. But it has been grounded in the driveway for a while for many reasons. Winter. Dentists. There is not a lot of authenticity to “typical Texas” these days. Restaurants and bars can often feel more like you landed at the Texas section of Six Flaggs…more like a theme park than the “state of mind” it used to be, back in the days before the Bush era. More on Morelia…

There are those towns that you instantly get a “read” on….a good vibe, the minute you step off the bus.  Sometimes that first impression turns out to be wrong, but more often than not, the gut feeling is spot on.   I had about 6 hours to explore Morelia on my way to Patzcuaro last summer, and I instantly knew it was a place I wanted to return to spend more time.
